EN 378-1 requires that cold storage facilities with a volume of more than 10m3 must have an emergency call system, the function of which is still guaranteed even if the power supply fails. The NA 401 is composed of the alarm device installed outside the cold storage facility and one or more push buttons which are installed inside the cold storage facility. In order to maintain safety, both the device as well as the push-button lighting are powered by a rechargeable battery in the event of a power failure. Pressing the impact button results in a piercing alarm tone, via a potential-free relay contact and via an RS-485 interface. The alarm can only be ended by unlocking the pushbutton mechanism. Operational readiness, alarm and battery status are indicated by LEDs, the built-in rechargeable battery is maintenance-free and is optimally charged and monitored by a processor-controlled charge controller.
