R 454A

R454A is a modern refrigerant blend consisting of 35% R32 and 65% R1234yf and belongs to the HFO/HFC blends.
It has no ozone-depleting potential (ODP 0) and a low global warming potential of GWP 236–239, which is significantly lower than older refrigerants such as R404A.
R454A is classified as A2L: i.e. low toxicity but mildly flammable, which is why appropriate safety precautions are essential during planning and servicing.
It is primarily used as a replacement for R404A in commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, particularly for low- and medium-temperature refrigeration.
Its advantages include a better environmental footprint and, in many cases, good efficiency and cooling capacity in new system designs.
