R 452B

The refrigerant R452B is an HFO/HFC blend (R32/R1234yf/R125) that was developed as a replacement for R410A in air conditioning systems and heat pumps.
It has a significantly lower global warming potential (GWP ≈ 676) than R410A, making it more environmentally friendly.
However, R452B is highly flammable and belongs to safety class A2L, which is why special precautions are required during handling, maintenance and installation.
Systems must therefore be approved for A2L refrigerants, and care must be taken to ensure adequate ventilation and to avoid ignition sources.
The pressure profile is similar to that of R410A, which allows for partial compatibility of components but does not permit a direct drop-in replacement.
Furthermore, personnel should be trained in the handling of A2L refrigerants and strictly adhere to the applicable safety regulations (e.g. EN 378).
