The different electrical conductivities of air, water and ice activate and deactivate the relay. Two stainless steel electrodes are attached to the evaporator coil at the desired activation distance (min. 12 mm and max. 35 mm) so that the tips of the electrodes are covered by ice. The E37-1201 device has a third electrode for differential regulation of ice build up. This regulator can also be used a level regulator, fluid level indicator, flow indicator in pipes, high water level or overflow indicator and dry-run protection.
