Grand Opening of the Expanded Central Warehouse of Schiessl Polska in Środa Wielkopolska

The official opening of the expanded warehouse took place on 10 April 2026 and brought together all company employees.

The event had a special character — it marked not only the symbolic completion of the investment project, but also an opportunity for the entire Schiessl Polska team to celebrate their shared success.

At the culminating moment, employees particularly involved in the warehouse expansion, together with representatives of SIGNET - the construction supervisor - and the general contractor NICKEL, performed the symbolic ribbon-cutting, officially commissioning the new facility.

The new facility, 14.9 metres high, is equipped with modern warehouse racking with a total capacity of 5,740 pallet spaces, enabling goods to be stored on six levels.

The racking is served by VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) system trucks guided by an inductive loop, with the operator raised together with the load (Man-up), ensuring high efficiency, safety and precision of operation. The key Man-up function allows the operator to directly inspect and handle goods at high storage levels. The system trucks operate in very narrow working aisles just 190 cm wide, which in turn allows maximum utilisation of the available warehouse space for product storage.

The loading and unloading connector is an integral part of the investment project, and links the new facility with the existing warehouse of over 5,000 m².

This area is used for goods receiving, order picking and dispatch processes. The connector is equipped with three loading/unloading docks designed to accommodate trucks or trailers with varying bed heights, as well as standard warehouse gates.

In parallel with the warehouse expansion, a WMS (Warehouse Management System) was implemented to manage logistics operations across the entire Central Warehouse complex.

The software, tailored specifically to our needs, enables precise management and identification of stock locations using barcodes. The entire facility is covered by a Wi-Fi network, and all operations are recorded in real time (online) by employees using mobile terminals equipped with barcode scanners.

The expansion of the SCHIESSL Polska Central Warehouse is an investment that significantly improves the company’s operational efficiency, enabling even more effective customer service and supporting the company’s continued dynamic growth.
