The second generation of Scroll ZB refrigeration compressors have been developed for normal cooling applications that require a high degree of energy efficiency throughout the year. Copeland Scroll compressors have only one third the number of moving parts as piston compressors and feature a Scroll Compliance mechanism that makes them particularly durable and makes them extremely reliable even under difficult conditions (e.g. liquid hammering). They stand out for their low weight and compact size, which makes them ideal for use in condenser units, small refrigeration systems or special processing units. The Summit scroll compressor series rated at 7 to 15 hp offers an annual efficiency that is up to 15% higher than that of conventional semi-hermetic piston compressors. These compressors are also extremely quiet when in operation. All models can be fitted with an external housing for sound insulation that reduces the noise level by a further 10 dBA. This makes them the best choice for refrigeration application in city centres and residential areas. The ZB series also includes the ZB220 (30 hp), the largest Scroll refrigerant compressor on the market. Other key features include low condensation temperatures, a wide range of possible uses and fast temperature reduction for excellent adaptability.
