R 515B

R515B (trade name e.g. Solstice N15) is a non-flammable, low-GWP replacement refrigerant for R134a in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. It consists of R1234ze(E) (91.1%) and R227ea (8.9%) and has a GWP of approx. 293. The mixture is quasi-azeotropic, meaning it can be charged in either the liquid or gaseous phase without any significant change in composition. It is compatible with conventional POE oils and offers similar pressure and performance data to R134a, but with a significantly lower global warming potential. This makes R515B F-gas compliant, suitable for long-term use and particularly well-suited to medium-temperature refrigeration, chiller and HVAC applications where safety is a priority.
